Region 10 has for a number of years been awarded $20,000 annually from the Colorado Economic Development Commission to help support projects that promote economic development within the Region 10 Enterprise Zone, which comprises most of Montrose, Delta, Hinsdale, San Miguel, Gunnison and Ouray Counties. (See link at left for zone boundary definitions).

Region 10 will accept proposals for Enterprise Zone Marketing Grants between November 1 and November 30, 2008 for projects that begin after January 1, 2009 and can be completed by October 31, 2009.  Qualifying complete applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

The Application Form (link below) includes space for a concise one page project description which should demonstrate that funds will be used for to promote the advantages of locating a business in the Enterprise Zone, help establish a positive identity for the Enterprise Zone, encourage retention and expansion of existing businesses, promote redevelopment, expand the Region's tourism industry, attract new business, or generally enhance the economic growth of the Enterprise Zone.

Uses for grant funds may include the preparation, production, and or distribution of market research, printed materials, direct mail campaigns, print media advertising, trade show promotions, special events, Web promotions, direct business prospect visitation and other related activities. Grant awards will range from $1,000 to $2,000 for each selected project.  All projects must have a dollar for dollar cash match from another source. The amount of grant funds awarded to each project will depend on the number of applications we receive and whether a previous grant has been awarded to the applicant.  Once a grant has been awarded, Region 10 will request grant funds from the state only after the project is completed and suitable invoices, account statements and match monies have been submitted to Region 10.

Any media created for marketing projects must include a statement acknowledging the use of Region 10 Enterprise Zone Marketing Grant funds as well as the Region 10 logo below, which can be copied by simply right-clicking it.
