She makes it look easy, but it’s not. Wearing a number of hats and capably managing several programs just happens to be second nature for Eva Veitch, a former Executive Director of All Points Transit and Director of Outreach for Volunteers of America. Today—in addition to volunteering as a Montrose Chamber of Commerce Redcoat and with Montrose Altrusa–Eva serves as Region 10’s Community Living Services Director, heading the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), for which she secures and directs federal, state and potentially private financial support to regional contractors who serve adults over 60 years of age. These contracts help fund a wide variety of services for senior citizens, including senior dining, meals on wheels, transportation services, dental services, homemaker services, legal services and many others.
Eva also oversees the ARCH, or Adult resources for Care and Help, and serves as Regional Ombudsman. She is assisted by Region 10 Community Living Services Options Counselor Amy Rowan. Among the services and programs offered through Region 10 Community Living Services are:
  • Information and referrals to programs that are designed to support and serve people over 60 and those with disabilities in their own communities;
  • Help with long-term service and support programs—we can even help you apply and follow up on your application;
  • Advocacy through our long-term-care ombudsman program, which provides support, training and oversight for people residing in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities;
  • Education and support for staff and families of long-term-care residents.We welcome and empower volunteers who join the team—so if you are passionate about human services, and want to make a positive difference for seniors and people with disabilities, please call Eva Veitch at Region 10 Community Living Services, 970-249-2436. We will help you put your hands and heart to work with meaningful programs and activities that improve lives.
