As the collective voice of six west-central Colorado counties, Region 10 provides leadership and technical assistance in supporting communities, diversifying the regional economy, and working with governments to meet community needs.

As one of the fourteen regional organizations in Colorado, Region 10 serves with the others as an essential catalyst for building regional partnerships and local capacity. Community Development Services include technical assistance and capacity support for local communities; economic diversity and resiliency planning and support; and grant writing and management. Through these services Region 10 has been a catalyst in investing millions of dollars into the regional communities in these efforts. Region 10 has had a key role in implementation of the identified projects and goals for the region.

Region 10 provides Community Development Services upon the request of the community.

Technical Assistance & Capacity

 

Region 10 technical assistance program is designed to bring needed capacity to the region’s rural communities. We support communities with with community and project planning, feasibility studies, project implementation, grant writing, grant management and general consultation.

Economic Resiliency Planning

 

Region 10 works with our state and federal partners to implement a number of strategies for the region and local communities, making investments to create a diverse economy and reduce dependency on a single industry, hopefully diminishing the impact of “boom and bust” periods experienced by the region in past decades.

Example of Community Projects:

Create a broadband network that provides an innovative, highly leveraged plan to provide abundant and redundant services to the region that utilizes existing networks, prevents overbuild, and brings affordable services to the residents and businesses.
Support existing communities. Strategically optimize infrastructure funding to maximize investment and revitalize communities.
Enhance integrated planning and investment. Align policies to remove barriers, leverage funding and increase accountability and effectiveness.
Value healthy communities and neighborhoods. Support unique community characteristics by investing in healthy, safe, walk-able neighborhoods, quality schools, and prosperous, sustainable downtowns.
